Leveraging Government Supply Chain (GeM & Womaniya):
One of our primary focus areas is helping you sell your products. The Government of India has amended public procurement policies to ensure that 3% of annual procurement by Central Ministries, Departments, and PSUs is reserved for women-owned MSMEs. I urge every woman entrepreneur to register on the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) and leverage the special "Womaniya" initiative.
"Womaniya" is designed to showcase your handicrafts, handlooms, jute, organic foods, and office products directly to government buyers, eliminating middlemen and providing a fair market price. Whether you are a small SHG in a rural village or a manufacturer in an industrial hub, GeM provides a digital platform to scale your business to unprecedented heights.
Finding New Opportunities and Support:
Beyond public procurement, we are committed to unlocking other growth opportunities. The Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) by NITI Aayog operates as a one-stop-shop, offering mentorship, financial aid, and compliance assistance. For new ventures, I encourage you to leverage MUDRA Yojana loans, which offer funding up to ₹10 lakhs without collateral for women-led startups.
Furthermore, our upcoming initiative—SHE Marts (Self-Help Entrepreneur Marts)—is designed to create community-owned retail spaces that will provide physical market access to products made by women-led cooperatives and rural enterprises. We are also subsidizing up to 100% of the cost for women’s participation in trade fairs.
